Lim Tali is a tropical hardwood timber that is known for its durability and resistance to wear and tear. It is native to sub-Saharan Africa and is often used in construction, marine applications, and outdoor projects:
Appearance
Freshly sawn lim tali is yellow to orangey brown, but darkens to dark brown or dark red brown after exposure. The sapwood is yellowish grey to dark grey and is distinct from the heartwood.
Properties
Tali has a coarse texture, interlocked or irregular grain, and moderately high luster. It is easy to work with both hand and machine tools. However, machining can be difficult due to its high density and interlocked grain, which can blunt tools.
Uses
Tali is used in heavy hydraulic constructions, bridge constructions, decking, sheet pilings, sound barriers, stables, and piles.
Availability
You can buy tali hardwood slabs from Anwi Symplace in Cameroon, which delivers to major countries worldwide.
